Astonishing Nature of Everything

Do you ever feel dissatisfied with life? Moments of boredom, feeling like everything is static? Nothing could be further than the truth.

The idea that life is boring or static is merely that, an idea. This idea forms a mental overlay on experience, creating a sense of dissatisfaction. But what is there when the overlay of these ideas is stripped away?

Consider your surroundings, right now. Pay attention to all aspects of your experience. Sight, sound, taste, touch, smell. Become aware of the experience that you are having, in this instant.

Work your way through each of the senses, gathering the information your body provides as a result of this experience. Consider sight. Looking around you, what is there?

We often take sight for granted, not considering how wonderful and almost magical the concept of light is. There is a massive range of light; the visible spectrum is only a tiny sliver of what is out there. Isn’t it amazing we have such depth and variety of colour?

What does it mean to see light? What does it mean to hear sound? Becoming aware of each sensation can turn a seemingly boring moment into one full of exploration, adventure, and unpredictability.

The flow of experience is boundless. Each instant has an infinite supply of experiences to explore. Experiences that are already here.

How would it feel to not discount anything you are experiencing? Try not to perceive experience, but actually experience it.

Life is like a painting that is always evolving, a series of brush strokes without end. What does your attention land upon in this instant? What colours are being added to the masterpiece that is your life?

Perception, consciousness, sight, sound, taste, touch, smell, emotion, thought. Each of these is a brush that is painting the experience of life. Each of these is already here, naturally arising as a result of life.

The more often you take the time to experience the flow of now, the easier it is to see that nothing is ever static. Everything is always moving, each and every moment. Everything is always alive. Can you sense it?
