We think we are separate from the moment. We often try to control experience, modifying the moment in some way. But the moment is already here, and there is value in allowing it to be as it is.
We often try to transform experience, managing our reality. We seek to turn each moment into something better. Sometimes, we try to remove ourselves from the moment, to shield ourselves or reduce the intensity of life.
However, there is no need to predict the future. The future is always going to be uncertain, regardless of our predictions. Each moment flows into the next, ever-changing.
Instead, try to feel the flow of reality, as it is already. Each instant is alive. Life has already made room for this moment. We know this because each moment is already here.
Feeling the need to “accept” the moment, what is, is moot. The moment is already here, whether we accept it or not. So we should stop trying to take an action to accept the moment, and allow it to be as it is.
Consider the ocean. The ocean does not “accept” waves, the waves are the ocean’s expression. Waves are not separate from the ocean, they are the ocean.
Similarly, the moment is not something that is separate from life. The moment is life.
We think we are separate from the moment, but we are not. We are life, like a wave on the ocean. There is nothing to accept, and no one to accept it.
Instead, there is a seamless flow of reality. A constant continuum of existence. Instead of fighting this flow, we should allow it to be as it is. We should experience life for what it is, instead of trying to force it to be what it is not.
Practicing mindfulness can help with letting go of our attempts at control. Of constantly using our thinking brains. Instead, we can practice allowing the moment to be as it is. Experiencing our natural place in life.
